can I use a bottled vinaigrette dressing on vegtable day or is there a recipe to make one

Hi,
I don't recommend bottled vinaigrette. They contain sugar and other ingredients that interfere with weight loss.
But you may prepare a fresh vinaigrette for yourself. Mix:

1 tablespoon (apple) vinegar/ or lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
some low sodium seasoning
herbs

This quantity can be used for 2 salad portions.
Don't use more than the above mentionned portion per day!

Can I use balsamic vinegar on my vegetables?

Dear JJ,
1 tablespoon of (balsamic) vinegar per day is an allowed cheat on the cabbage soup diet. You may use it as base for a salad dressing or for your vegetables.

mustard on cabbage soup diet

Hi there, is it ok to add mustard to my cabbage soup while I'm on this diet?

Hi,
please don't add more than 1 teaspoon mustard per day on your cabbage soup diet - as allowed cheat.
The less the better...Mustard is too high in sodium for being suitable for such a cleansing diet.

salt and oil

Hi,
I was wondering if its ok that I can use oil in the cabbage soup (1 and half tablespoon)? I would also like to use 1 tablespoon on the veggies on top of the oil I used on the cabbage soup - is this ok?

Also, how much salt can I use in the cabbage soup?? Half a tablespoon ok?

Also just wondering if its alright that I ate half a mango on the fruits day? I know they are high GI so thats why.

great questions!

1 tablespoon olive oil per day is ok!
You may use part of it for cabbage soup and part of it for veggies!

Regarding salt - the less the better, low sodium seasoning is the better choice. But half a tablespoon per day should be ok. But then you should limit other high-sodium ingredients.

Mango is perfect for fruit days!

Low Fat Dressing Recipes

On the vegetable eating days, can you have dressing on a salad?

You may have 1 tablespoon non fat dressing on your salad or vegetables on your days with
vegetables (day 2, day 3 and day 6).

If you don't have low fat dressing, I'll give you in the following two low fat dressing recipes for your convenience:

best for green salads:

mix together 2 tablespoons low fat yoghurt, some lemon juice, salt and pepper according to your taste (low sodium salt preferred)

best for salads from raw vegetables like carrots, zucchini, cucumber or celery:

mix together 1 teaspoon olive oil or walnut oil, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, salt and pepper according to your taste (low sodium salt preferred)

I make my own hummus: blend drained chickpeas, a bit of olive oil, lemon juice and water. I thin it with more water so that it's dressing consistency. I love *lots* of salad dressing on my salads, so think lets me have that luxury without overdoing the fat based dressings.

can we have lemon or vinegar during our cabbage soup diet

I'm on the second day of this diet and I wanted to know if I'm allowed to pure some fresh lemon or vinegar on my salad and my cabbage soup???

As we as can we have any type of vegetable or fruit on beef and rice day???
