Soup tastes MUCH better if celery is cooked separately

After making my first pot of soup, I realized the heavy smell and disagreeable taste was not from the cabbage, but from all that celery. So for the second pot, I stir-fried cut-up celery in a skillet, and put a tablespoon of it on my bowl of soup.
