Salad Dressing for cabbage soup diet

On the day to eat vegetables, I am wanting a salad. Can I use any type of dressing?

Hi,
here is an allowed "cheating" for the cabbage soup diet. You may have 1 tablespoon healthy (olive) oil and 1 tablespoon vinegar per day while on cabbage soup diet. This can build a base together with low sodium seasoning for salad dressings. Usually for one salad portion one tespoon of oil and vinegar each is already enough!

Part of the oil may also be used to saute vegetables or as ingredient for the cabbage soup. This is up to you.

Hi Sharon,
you are allowed to have 1 tablespoon olive oil per day. This might be used either as base for salad dressing or for steaming your vegetables or even for your cabbage soup.

1 tablespoon olive oil together with 1 tablespoon vinegar, some herbs and seasonings make a wonderful dressing. Don't use more than this allowed dressing quantity per day.

Hi Linda,

no alcohol is allowed on the cabbage soup diet.
For drinking we recommend (mineral) water, herbal teas and cranberry juice.

You may saute your vegetables with 1 teaspoon olive oil in a wok or a pan - but consume not more than 1 tablespoon olive oil per day. No sauces!

With the remaining olive oil you may also prepare a salad dressing. Mix it with vinegar/lemon juice and some seasoning. But make sure to use not more than 1 tablespoon vinegar per day.

Lemon juice

Are you allowed lemon juice on your veggies?

Hi,
yes lemon juice is perfect. You may use it as a base for your salad dressing, to spice up your vegetables or add it to your mineral water drink.
