Olive oil and cabbage soup diet

I am on day two and had olive oil on my veggies....mixed with lemon juice. I realize now this was a mistake because of the fat content. Have I ruined my chances of losing the 10 pounds?

Hi,

this is no problem! You may even have one tablespoon olive oil per day, while on the cabbage soup diet. Use it for steaming your veggies, as base for your salad dressing - like you died - or drop it in your cabbage soup.

cabbage soup diet and olive oil

When cooking the veggies can you use any oils, or should all veggies be steamed. Also, when eating raw veggies can you have oil and vinegar or no dressings at all?

One tablespoon olive oil per day is fine. Some vinegar for salad is no problem too. With the olive oil you may fry some veggies, prepare a salad dressing or drop it in your cabbage soup. There is even a cabbage soup recipe which allows 3 tablespoons olive oil (this is one of my favorite): cabbage soup with olive oil and pecorino

olive oil or veg oil

Can I use olive oil or any veg oil on your salads?? Salt and pepper ok to use???

Dear Loise,
yes you may have 1 tablespoon olive oil or other healthy oil per day. It is up to you if you use it all together with some lemon/vinegar for a salad dressing or if you take a part of it for frying vegetables or other food.

Please limit your salt intake or choose sodium-free seasonings. Pepper is fine!

olive oil on cabbage soup diet

On my instructions it doesn't say how to cook the veges. Can I use olive oil? Also, what is this about protein shakes, are they allowed and what kind? Can I have more than one cup of bran for the 7 days. Help me I'm so hungry.

Hi Donna,
you may prepare the veggies the way you like - eat them raw, steam, cook, bake or fry them...
You may have as a "healthy cheat" one tablespoon olive oil per day - but go for best quality (extra vergile).

The Olive Oil can be used to steam your vegetables or as part of the cabbage soup.

Another cheat is the cup of bran per day - only one cup not more!

There exists a special cabbage soup diet plan with allowed protein shakes that we highly recommend. You'll find it here: 7 day soup diet.

My best recommendation is, whenever hungry, eat more cabbage soup...

1. Yes, you can have a little olive oil on you vegiies.
The improved cabbage soup diet plan allows 1 tablespoon olive oil per day. You may use part of as base for a salad dressing, steam vegetables or even pour it into your cabbage soup.

2. There exist a 7 day cabbage soup diet that allows dairy like low fat yoghurts every day!

olive oil instead of black olives

Can you eat black olives on the diet?

Hi Laura,
we don't recommend black olives - as they have a high fat content. Did you know that unlike many fruits, olives can't be eaten right of the tree as they are naturally intensely bitter. For this reason they must be cured in things like oil, salt, water or lye.

Especially the oil and the salt makes them impropriate for a healthy "cabbage soup diet snack."

As allowed cheat you may have however 1 tablespoon olive oil per cabbage soup diet day.
Please use the best quality of olive oil you can get.

You may use this olive oil in your cabbage soup, for a salad dressing or even to fry your vegetables. Olive oil is by the way much healthier than the butter spray, you requested in another thread...
