banana and milk day without milk?

On day 4 banana and skimmed milk- I do not like any form of milk or milk drink. What can I substitute

Hi Chalky,
try it with fat free or low fat soymilk instead.
If you don't like soy milk neither, switch to the 3 day cabbage soup diet which doesn't need a banana day. For similar results repeat it on several weekends.

All the best,

Gabriela

substitute for milk on banana day?

Is there an alternative for the banana/skim milk day? I don't care about bananas (= rather don't like them) but I really can't stand milk! Also, the desire for sweets is the ONE problem don't need to deal with - I'd happily eat more vegges on that day...
thanks
Angela

Hi Angela,
you could try it with soy milk or almond milk instead if you can stand the taste of them.
No additional vegetables on day four, have more cabbage soup instead.

All the best,
Gabriela

Can I substitute the skim milk for low fat/low cal plain yoghurt on Banana day?

by Mel Boyd
(Wellington, New Zealand)

Hi Gabriela.
Thanks so much for your prompt responses to all my questions. This website is truly what gets me through each day! So as my question above, are we able to substitue the skim milk for plain natural yoghurt? Of course I won't be eating as much as I can - say two or three tablespoons with each meal of bananas!

Hi Mel,
thank you for the compliment. Your questions are appreciated.

Yes you may substitute the skim milk for plain natural yoghurt (low fat) on the banana day. Your suggested quantities are ok. Maybe you may want to try also the above mentioned banana day version with banana shakes based on butter milk.

All the best,
Gabriela

banana day without milk

by theresa
(nh)

Another question is today is banana day for me, but can't stand skim milk, I am not a milk drinker at all. Don't like dairy product could there be something else

Dear Theresa,
you may try soy milk instead - if you can't tolerate it then please switch to another weight loss option. Protein is necessary for a healthy weight loss!

All the best,
Gabriela

dairy on day four

by katie
(Ontario, Canada)

hi there! I'm just curious if we can substitute skim milk with sour cream?

Hi Katie,
low fat sour milk would be a great substitute,
sour cream however is usually too fat as dairy on day four.

All the best,
Gabriela

rice milk instead soy milk?

by Kinia

Can I use rice milk instead soy milk? I am allergic to soy products and I have lactose intolerance. What can I use then?

Dear Kinia,
I'm not allowed to give you here any medical consultation. But from the diet stand point rice milk is better than no milk!

As a kind of "rice grain" milk it is mostly made from brown rice. Make sure to choose the unsweetened version.

Rice milk contains compared to cow's milk more carbohydrates, but on the other hand it does not contain significant amounts of protein or calcium, and no cholesterol or lactose.

Especially Protein and Calcium is very important for the cabbage soup diet week - maybe it's a good idea to make yourself a protein shake in addition based on protein you can tolerate.

All the best,
Gabriela

Almond Milk

by Lavona
(Atascadero, California)

Can I have a soy protein shake with unsweetened almond milk in place of milk? I don't drink milk. Almond milk has 40 calories for 8 ounces. Also, how many shakes a day are allowed?

Hi Lavona,
almond milk is a great alternative to cow's or soy milk, especially for the weight conscious.

Thank you for this tip! Unsweetened almond milk is lower in calories, it is very nutritious with no or little saturated fat.

On the cabbage soup diet days we recommend an almond milk shake twice a day (convenient cabbage soup diet plan). One exception is the banana diet day. On this day 4 we recommend a banana shake based on almond milk four times a day. If you then still want to eat "plain" bananas, no problem...

Don't forget to eat enough cabbage soup too.
All the best,
Gabriela

Strawberry Yogurt

by Katy
(Pennsylvania)

I had non-fat strawberry banana yogurt instead of plain. Is this ok? I am on day four.

Hi Katy,
strawberry banana yogurt like any other "fruit" yogurt usually contains sugar or at least artificial sweeteners. On the cabbage soup diet, the intake of sugar/artificial sugar could not only reduce the weight loss effect but could also lead to higher hunger cravings.
A plain yogurt with a "fresh banana" would be great! Please switch to plain yogurts for your remaining days and if you prefer the "sweet yogurt type" add some fresh fruits on day 7. This would have been allowed also on day 1 and 3.

All the best,
Gabriela
