Maggi Kohlsuppe:
The ready made cabbage soup in cans.
read here about the Maggi Kohlsuppe - a healthy cabbage soup in cans which for now is only available in Germany. If you would like to have the posibility to buy such cans in your country too, please participate in our poll below.
You only need to warm it up
With "Maggi Kohlsuppe" a low calorie cabbage soup has been released in 2004. (Kohlsuppe is the german name for cabbage soup.) You can buy the soup ready made in a cans and the only thing you have to do is to warm it up. If you are a cabbage soup diet fan with little time to prepare your own soup - maybe these Maggi Cans are just the right answer for you.
Three different variations of Maggi Kohlsuppe
Maggi offers three different variations:
The Maggi Kohlsuppe Classic tastes according to the traditional cabbage soup recipe.
The Maggi Kohlsuppe Asia contains typical asian seasoning like ginger and lemongrass.
The Maggi Kohlsuppe Mediterran tastes more like tomatoes with mediterrean seasoning. Every can is one portion (425 ml) and you can get it in germany for approx. 1,49 Euro.
I’ve tested the soup and I liked it!
Of course it can’t match my self made cabbage soup. However, the Maggi Cabbage Soup has a better taste than i would have expected from a "can soup". The taste is similar to the traditional cabbage soup recipe. I had only to open my can and heat it up. Very simple. A wonderful idea especially for those working in an office.
Ingredients for Maggi Cabbage Soup Classic
In the following I’ve translated for you the ingredients of the Kohlsuppe classic: Water, cabbage, carrots, red pepper, yellow pepper, onions, stem turnip, jod salt, celery, starch, flavor mononatriumglutamat, Guanylat, Inosianat, Hefeextrakt, chicken fat, sunflower oil, Aroma, soy, wheat, onion powder, meat extraction, sugar, herbs, seasoning.
Nutritional Value of the Maggi Kohlsuppe per 100 g:

Only for someone who can afford it!
But - I would recommend this ready made soup only to someone who can afford it. One portion (can) costs 1,49 Euro (approx. 1.25 USD) in Germany. And for having really enough soup for one diet day you would need 8 – 10 cans. That makes more than 10 Euro a day or 70 Euro a week only for the soup!!!
Where you get it:
In Germany you get it in every bigger supermarket, Wal-Mart included. In the meantime many cabbage soup diet fans mailed me that they can't get such a cabbage soup in cans outside of germany.
Poll: Cabbage Soup in Cans?
With your help it will be available online
But maybe we can find a way to distribute this healthy soup online. As a 7 day package the price per can would be less. My plan is to collect a database which demonstrates the big international demand for such a cabbage soup in cans.
It would be great, if you would participate in the poll below.
Thank you in advance for your help.
An alternative: Wolfgang Puck's Vegetable Soup
If you eagerly nead a cabbage soup in cans we recommend in the meantime to test the organic vegetable soup of Wolfgang Puck, which is online available and can be delivered within 48 hours in the USA.
Read here more about it.
