there are several opinions about it - and it exists even a 10 day cabbage soup diet plan somewhere on the net.

We don't recommend doing the cabbage soup diet longer than 7 days, especially the old version without added protein. It is the lack of protein that makes this diet dangerous for your health when doing it longer than 7 days.

The newer versions are somewhere safer because they add protein to the cabbage soup diet plan.

A better option is to reapeat the 7 day cabbage soup diet after several weeks/month.

can I continue diet for another week.

don't do this. 4 kg in 4 days is great! We don't recommend to do the cabbage soup diet more often than 3-4 times per year with at least 3 months in between. The better strategy is to use the soup as a starter before your meals. By this you will shed additional pounds in the long run.

Why is longer than 7 days soup diet not recommended? I am on day 3 and feeling pretty good - I would like to know why you can only go on this diet for a week and not longer...

the cabbage soup diet is a highly restricted diet that can give you a motivating quick weight loss and a kind of a psychological boost to eat healthier in the long run.

It is however not considered as a longterm weight loss concept - as it is very low in calorie and not balanced enough for a healthy longterm nutrition.

Try to switch to a healthy longterm weight loss concept after the 7 days and if you like repeat this diet after some weeks again.
A great option for you could be to incorporate the cabbage soup in your daily nutrition - as a starter before your meal. You will see, this sheds pounds in the long run too.

How often can I do the cabbage soup diet

Every how many weeks/months/days can i do this diet?
Example: lets say i do it one week eat healthy for the week after the diet and then one week with the diet again. Is this healthy?


There are several opinions on this question.
I won't do the cabbage soup diet more often than 6 times per year (all 2 month). But maximum 4 times per year is even safer - for health reasons...

The better option is to switch to a low fat nutrition after the cabbage soup diet week and have the cabbage soup as a starter before your meals.

Can you use the cabbage soup diet 1 week out of every month to lose all your weight?

I recommend to do the cabbage soup diet not more than 3-4 times per year (6 times as an absolute maximum!). The rest of the time it's great to switch e.g. to low fat nutrition.

The more often you repeat this diet the less impressive will be your weight loss effect and this of course will influence your motivation to stick to this diet.

For repetition make sure to choose the healthy improved 7 day cabbage soup diet plan with added protein.

Dear B.,
the cabbage soup diet is not appropriate for longer than 1 week at a time. You may repeat it 3-4 times per year with sufficient time in between (several months!).

What you can do instead - even longar than 1 month when you can... is using the cabbage soup as a starter before your meals. This will help you also lose some additional pounds in the long run.

please don't do the cabbage soup diet longer than 7 days. See it as a motivating jump start to a healthy new you! The better option is to switch afterwards to a healthy nutrition and use cabbage/vegetable soup as a starter before your meals. By doing this you will not only reach your weight loss goals but they will also be sustainable!

only got 6 days which to miss?

I've only got 6 days to do it which is the best day to miss out?

this is a real good question. Nobody else has ever asked this! I can only speculate on that.

Of course the order of the 7 day cabbage soup diet makes a lot of sense regarding balancing out the blood sugar and avoiding possible hunger cravings.

When hunger attacks might bothering you then maybe you could drop the last day and still see a considerable weight loss.

It is however especially important that you keep the cabbage soup at hand also after the diet week. By this you will stabilize your "new weight".

The second option for missing out might be day 5 with tomatoes and meat.

But this is up to you which day you prefer for missing out.

I only have 6 days!!

I only have 6 days with which to do the diet and I know that this will effect the overall success of the diet, however, can someone advise me on which day I should miss out? - was thinking that it was probably best to miss either day 5 or 6 but am unsure - thank you.

Is it ok to continue the soup diet after it is broken?

I broke the diet in day 2 for a birthday party, but, I could manage not to overeat.
I'd like to know if I can continue my Day 3 diet after I broke it. I don't want to start all over from Day 1.

I regret but I can't recommend continuing the cabbage soup diet. You've stopped the detoxification process. On top this birthday cheat will make it much harder sticking to the remaining diet week - let alone the much lesser weight loss effect.

The best you can do is wait several weeks until you find a time without social obligations or parties. This will ensure a healthy approach and an impressive weight loss effect.
