Are you allowed to make your own fruit juice on the cabbage soup diet

Hi there! I'm a huge fan of this website and am constantly reading all the questions people are asking on here. With all that you'd think I should know it all about the cabbage soup diet but alas I have some questions of
my own.

1.) Are you allowed to make your own fruit juice on the diet? I have been making orange juice with nothing more than the oranges and an old fashion
squeezer. But I read drinking juice from a fruit goes through your system faster than eating it thus loosing the effect of the "Negative Calorie"

2.) Since Day 5 (or is it 6 I always get those two days mixed up) is beef and tomato day. Are you allowed tomatoes on any other day? It's technically a fruit so is it ok only on fruit days? Or is it ok on Veggie days?
But since it's in the soup anyways is it ok any day?

Thanks so much for spending so much time anwering all of our questions. I just adore the cabbage soup diet and am really looking forward to going on it this week. =)

Hi Jennifer,

thank you for your kind words, regarding my website.
Here are my answers:

1) fruit juices or shakes are allowed on the fruit days.
But we recommend to eat "whole fruits" too.
It might happen that especially the fruit juices cause higher hunger pains than eating the whole fruit. The reason herefore is exactly what you have read - juices pass faster through your system, on top they might influence your insuline level in a negative way. Bottom Line: we recommend not more than 2 fruit juices on the fruit days + many more fruits and cabbage soup.

2) you are absolutely right, tomatoes are botanically seen as fruits.
And yet, the most people will use them as vegetables. This is what we are doing on the csd too.
You may eat tomatoes on all your "vegetable" days, and you may put them in your soup every day. And even if you ate a tomao on the fruit day, I don't think that this would harm your weight loss success in any way.

All the best,
Gabriela

juice in place of fruit

Can I use juice in place of fruit and veggie juice in place of veggies sometimes. Also can I mix the protien shake with skim milk.

If you don't exaggerate, yes, but use 100 % fruits or vegetables and mix them in a blender.
If you use premade fruit juice in bottles you might risk that you get very hungry. The satiation effect of fruit juices is not as high as if you eat the whole fruit.

All the best,

Gabriela
