Green Beans

by Jeanne

Are green beans allowed?

Hi Jeanne,
no! Green beans are similar to "regular beans", corn and pulses not allowed for the cabbage soup diet week.

Green Beans
by: Leah Allen

Green beans are on the list as a negative calorie food. So wouldn't they be allowed on the diet?

Hi Leah,
maybe they are allowed for the "negative calorie diet" - but for the cabbage soup diet the so called legumes are not allowed. A reason herefore might be, that cabbage itself can cause flatulence while e.g. beans could even increase that effect and make the cabbage soup diet not very tolerable and hard to stick to.

After the cabbage soup diet week however we recommend eating legumes like beans or lentils - it is a vegetarian-friendly and flavorful way to get nutrients such as fiber and protein.

All the best,
Gabriela
