Can you freeze the soup that way I can make a weeks worth at once.

Yes you can freeze cabbage soup! Here are the directions for freezing it.
Allow the cabbage soup to cool.
Keep your soup in plastic bags or appropriate containers in the freezer until you need to heat it either in the microwave safe container or in a saucepan. For taste reasons we recommend to freeze it not longer than several weeks.

Some prefer to defrost it and then heat it.
