eating only plain cabbage

Can I eat just plain cabbage without the other stuff and use the spices. I love cabbage but nothing else in the recipe.

Hello Harper,
a cabbage soup diet based solely on raw cabbage doesn't work at all! What you can do is eat your raw cabbage in addition to your cabbage soup and the other veggies on your "vegetable" days 2,3, 5,6 and 7!

eating plain Cabbage

If you can not get through eating the soup, can you just eat Cabbage plain in its place?

Hi,
the vegetable soup itself is very important. Not only is the soup much healthier, but the satiation effect for cabbage soup is much higher, than if you ate the cabbage plain in its place.

Dear Mariam,

No! You can eat raw cabbage in addition to the cabbage soup on the "vegetable days" but you can't eat it instead of the cabbage soup.

Drinking the soup without vegetables

Can I just drink the soup and throw the veges out, or I have to eat them also?

No - don't throw the vegetables out! The veges are a healthy part of the cabbage soup.

cabbage salad instead of cabbage soup

hi, can i replace the soup with salad (the same ingrediants but without boiling)?

I am not good with soups, it's a texture thing. Can the cabbage soup diet be done as a cabbage "salad" diet? I enjoy all of the ingredients that go into the soup, just can't do it as a soup, but could easily do it as a salad. Thanks! Laurie

Dear Wessam,
The main success of the cabbage soup diet is not only the healthy and purifying effect of cabbage but also the saturation effect of the soup itself.

We don't have any experience concerning doing the "cabbage diet" with cabbage salad instead of soup but we think that it might be much harder to stick to because of the missing saturation effect.

Researches show that People who eat soup before a meal have a higher saturation effect and eat less for meal/dinner than people who leave the soup out.

On the other hand if you manage to stick to a cabbage salad based diet for a whole week keeping the day ingredients like they are, you should of course see a great weight loss effect too.

Please make sure to drink enough water/tea to flush your body and add 1-2 proteinshakes per day.
