ketchup and mustard

Hi, I have been eating the soup's cabbage and other veggies with a bit of ketchup and dijon to make them taste better, is this OK? Also, am I allowed to eat only the veggies or is the broth more important?
Hi Ana,
we don't recommend ketchup because of the high sugar content. Mustard should't be used more than one teaspoon per day. But better you omit it because of its high salt content which may retain water in your body. For allowed cheats on the cabbage soup diet week check this thread: cabbage soup diet cheats
Veggies and the broth are both important. If you prefer you may also puree the veggies to get a more creamy soup.

vinegar & olive oil

First of all, thank you for this wonderful web site-it's been very helpful. I've decided to go for the oldest(and the hardest)version of the cabbage soup diet, this is my fourth day and I'm doing well so far. I have a few questions: 1)How many tablespoons of vinegar a day can I use to season vegetables on days 5, 6 and 7? 2)How many tablespoons of olive oil a day can I use to grill meat and fish on days 5 and 6? 3)Can I season meat with some mustard and fish with some lemon juice? Thanks!
Hi Marija, thank you for your compliment concerning my website. Your questions are appreciated and very welcome: 1.) max. 1 tbsp vinegar per day 2.) max. 1 tbsp olive oil per day 3.) 1 teaspoon mustard + some lermon juice per day is fine.
