cantaloupe vs banana

by Leslie
(Huntsville, AL)

I am doing the CSD again after a long time. I am not wild for bananas so I'm planning to eat a lot of cantaloupe on Day 4 instead since 1 medium banana has about 560 mg of potassium vs a half a medium cantaloupe which has 825 mg potassium.
Is there something in the banana that needs to be eaten that day that I will be missing with the cantaloupe?
Cantaloupe is so low in calories plus, believe it or not, it makes a fantastic shake blended with fatfree milk.
Thanks!
Leslie

Dear Leslie,
just try it with cantaloupe on day 4 instead of bananas and let us know how it worked!

All the best!

Some people are allergic to bananas or in my mothers case are phobic of them but love everything else in the diet. I think substitutes should be supplied in any diet for these special cases. As long as it isn't much different I dont see the problem let alone your problem.

Cantaloupe instead of bananas
by: messalina

I'm still asking, why do you guys consider this diet if you're going to make such drastic changes in it. The cabbage soup diet has become the substitution diet. If there's something on it you don't like "Substitute" it.

I'd love to see the original diet that was done, just to see if it made reference to feel free to subtitute things for anything you don't like. Cantaloupe and milk may not sit as well in your stomach as bananas and milk.

On the first meat day we are told we can subtitute beef for chicken or fish; not turkey or ground beef or liver. The diet is very strict if you don't have the discipline to follow it, you shouldn't consider it.

If you do the diet and make such changes you should consider yourself cheating.
