Brown Rice Day
by kikiblanco
How much brown rice can I have on the 7th day?
What other kind of rice can I have instead?
You can have an unlimited quantity of brown rice on day 7 but usually it's almost impossible to eat more than 500 g (17 ounces) or 2 cups (uncooked) rice which results in a much higher quantity of cooked rice.
Of course you may have instead any other kind of rice but here is the reason why we recommend brown rice:
Brown rice is nothing else than white rice including the bran covering the rice grains. With the bran intact, it is much healthier to
eat brown rice as the fiber is slowing down the absorption of carbohydrates (a too quick absorption causes hunger attacks)
In addition the bran contains nutrients like zinc, magnesium, manganese and the B-complex vitamin group. White rice has only reduced levels of these nutrients, but is often enhanced with some B vitamins and iron.
Another effect of rice in general: it is very low in fat and pours out water of the body. That's why many people use it also for a one day diet with rice.
