Blended cabbage soup ingredients?

by Mel Boyd

Hi there.
I have followed the cabbage soup diet recipe to a tee, but instead of chopping up the veges and putting them in a pot and boiling etc, I blended each vegetable with a bit of water in my Magic Bullet and then boiled etc. Is this OK to do? I assumed it would be fine as I haven't changed the ingredients at all? I find it much nicer to eat this way. The tomatoes that I added were Chilli and Garlic and really gave some zestiness to the soup. So yummy!

Hi Mel,

this sounds great! Stick to it, this is a wonderful and tasty cabbage soup variation option.
Thank you - and I'm sure other readers will appreciate your recipe idea too.

All the best,
Gabriela

grind the cabbage soup

by Shweta

I dont like cabbage when it comes in my mouth. Can I grind the whole soup when it's all made. After grinding i can put some salt and pepper and eat...
thanks

Hi Shweta,
Yes, of course you may grind or puree the cabbage soup and eat it (similar to a smoothie).

Find here a similar thread: pureed cabbage soup.

For seasoning we recommend low sodium cubes and/or low sodium salt + some pepper.

Pureed Soup

I use the classic recipe but let a portion cool and then puree it. It is more like a gazpacho. I like the change of texture.

drinking cabbage soup instead of eating

by SAIRA

Hi,
I take 14 glases of water and cook my soup for 2 hours at least. Finally the cabbage and tomatoes become too tender and tasteless to it. I strain my soup and drink 8 to 10 glasses of soup whole day. Am i doing it in right way?

Hi Saira,
you should NOT strain your soup but consume it together with the vegetables. The vegetables contain important detoxifying elements. If you prefer your soup drinkable, we recommend to bled it in a mixer.

8 - 10 glasses of "mixed" cabbage soup per day is fine!

For cooking time we recommend to cook the vegetables not that long. We let the soup & vegetables boil and then simmer for about 10 minutes. This keeps the vitamines within the cabbage soup and makes it much more tasty & healthy.

All the best,
Gabriela
